How Does Dry Extraction Carpet Cleaning Work?

  • Dry is probably not the best term to describe it (Dry is the term used in the industry).

A better description would be, Very Low Moisture, when compared to Steam Cleaning which injects water into the carpet to then extract it. We don't do that. A small amount of cleanser is sprayed into the carpet without overloading with water.

  • The cleanser is evenly misted (with a garden / lawn sprayer,) on the carpet and immediately agitated into the carpet or rug.
  • Our powerful (yet gentle) machine, which has dual counter rotating brushes that move vertically through carpet pile, deep cleans, lifts, and deodorizes your carpet (for severe odors Click Here).
  • The agitation process activates the cleaner and the dissolved dirt is absorbed and encapsulated. 
  •   The carpet cleanser dissolves and traps greasy, oily dirt, spots and stains (some stains are permanent, those that don't lift usually look better) as it is brushed into the carpet.
  • Carpets and rugs dry quicker because they are not soaked.

What Type of Carpet Cleaning Product Do You Use?

  • Our cleanser consists of a mild, organic compound, fortified with Hydrogen Peroxide, natural surfactants, anti bacterial agents as well as a mild citrus scent.
  • A pH factor of 7.5 (who cares as long as it works right?) ensures our process is suitable for all types of carpet ranging from wool to synthetic blends.
The product is considered a Green product, if that makes any difference. We know that it works.


Does Dry Work Better Than Wet Methods?

Dry Carpet Cleaning System offers the following advantages:

  • There is no wet carpet
  • No messy hoses in your home
  • Safe for all types of carpet
  • Carpet stays cleaner longer
  • Safe for people and pets

Will Your System damage my carpets?
  • No.  H & M Carpet Cleaning process will not shrink, stretch, de-laminate or otherwise destroy your carpet. That would be bad for business.

How Much Time Does a Carpet Cleaning Take?
  • Complete operation takes approximately 1-3 hours depending on how dirty the carpets are and the number of rooms involved.

Dry Time. When Can I Walk On My Carpets?

  • Because it is a low-moisture cleaner, the first rooms cleaned are usually dry when we leave. You will need to allow for 1-2 hours for the last areas cleaned to dry. 
  •   pre-treated areas, i.e. high traffic areas, spots, or extra filthy areas, may take longer to dry. Carpets may not be dry when we leave, even if we did them first.

Do You Offer A Guarantee?
  • It is true that some carpet should be replaced rather than cleaned. If you feel that your carpet may need to be replaced, please let us know prior to scheduling a cleaning appointment with us. If you are unsatisfied with our work simply contact us within 3 days and we will do what we can to rectify the matter.
  • Stains: We do our best to remove spots, but some spots are permanent stains and we can't guarantee their removal. The stains that won't lift usually do look better than before... usually.

Do You Keep Your Appointments?
  • Absolutely, you make an appointment and we show up. We know customer service is dead. But not here.

We make every effort to remove spots, but some spots/stains are permanent and we DO NOT guarantee their removal.

Stains that don't come out, usually appear better than before (without any special treatment).


chemically advanced treatment (for stubborn stains)

Certain stains do not respond to standard cleaning and spot removal methods. A special chemical treatment (costs extra) will be needed.

Obviously there is no obligation for special stain removal treatment. It's your call.  If you authorize special treatment, we only charge you if the stain is gone or 80-90% improved.


Even with chemically advanced treatment, some stains will not respond.

The only way to remove the stain is to cut out the piece of carpet  and replace with a remnant.
